Providing the highest degree of affordable family healthcare. Porter Medical Associates is excited to announce 23 years of dedicated service to our patients and their health! Visit one of our six locations.

Dear PMA Patients:

It is extremely important to us at Porter Medical Associates that we make sure we have done everything we can to ensure the safety of you and your loved ones during this scary situation. With the current environment conditions spreading the coronavirus across our country, it's important for all of us to conduct our daily activities with greater awareness and extra care.

Your team here at PMA wanted to personally update you on what safeguards PMA is putting in place for our patients, employees and families. PMA finds it important that you know we have your health as our #1 priority during this since we are an organization that provides quality medical care and our primary focus is your individual healthcare needs.

The measures PMA is taking to ensure your health remains in good standing while at our facilities are:

  • Regular and thorough disinfection of common areas and exam rooms, medical equipment, etc.
  • Educational presentations about COVID-19 by medical professionals to our employees.
  • Pre-screenings to potential virus hosts prior to being evaluated in the office.
  • Speedy Coronavirus testing and immediate isolation protocol for patients that fit the virus host criteria based off the screening tool they completed or the symptoms they present.
  • Limiting the number of outside guests that are allowed entry into our facility other than the PMA providers and PMA staff until further notice.

Ask Yourself:

  1. Do you have a fever and/or new cough?
  2. Have you been in close contact with a person known to have coronavirus/COVlD-19 illness or people who have been exposed to COWD19 or who are symptomatic (have a fever, cough, shortness of breath)?
  3. Have you recently traveled or have come in contact with someone who has traveled to a high-risk area such as China, Iran, Japan, Northern Italy, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and outbreak areas in North America?

If you answered 'YES" to question #1 ONLY you will be treated as a normal respiratory illness patient and you will be provided a mask for extra precaution. If you answered "YES" to either questions #1, #2 or BOTH and are not currently in our medical office receiving treatment PMA recommends you go to the nearest ER facility for speedy care. This will also ensure the proper testing materials and/or treatments are available to you firsthand due to the ER having all the essential items on site and PMA being limited on what items we have available.

For more information about the coronavirus, its symptoms, what to do if you are sick with coronavirus and other facts, please visit the website for the Center for Disease Control at: https://www.cdc.gov/covid19

Thank you for your trust in Porter Medical Associates and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Do you have a High Deductible Health Plan?

If you're wanting to seek care but you're worried about the cost and not sure how your health plan works, you're not alone. Navigating the healthcare system can be stressful - financially, emotionally, and physically. But as we know, putting off care now leads to needing more care later... and spending more later, as well. Let us help you get the care you need - without breaking the bank. We're well versed in High Deductible Health Plans and have a variety of options at our disposal to ensure that
you're not putting off feeling better due to cost concerns. Here's what you need to know.

What is a High Deductible Plan?

A High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) is an insurance plan that requires patients to pay a large amount of their healthcare costs out of pocket before their insurance kicks in to help lighten the load.

So, how can PMA help me?

At PMA, we're committed to providing our patients with the highest quality care, and that doesn't just mean in the exam room. We're always searching for options that allow all our patients the access they deserve to quality healthcare, regardless of their financial situation. Thus, we offer a variety of affordable payment and financing options, including:

CARECREDIT: PMA has partnered with CareCredit to offer flexible payment plans for our patients. CareCredit provides convenient payment options so that you can get the treatment you want and need while paying for it over a period of time, often without incurring interest charges. It's ideal for copayments, deductibles, and diagnostic testing sometimes not covered by your insurance.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS & HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNTS: Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are a great option for those looking to use pre-tax dollars to pay for medical care.Flexible Spending Accounts are set up through your employer and the amount of money accrued must be used by the end of each enrollment year. Health Savings Accounts allow you to spend money on qualified health expenses or medical costs not covered by your insurance plan. There is no deadline for withdrawing funds from an HSA, and unlike FSA'S, anyone can set one up. All plans are different , it's best to contact your employer or insurance provider for more details on eligibility and benefits.

ACCEPTED INSURANCE PLANS: We accept a variety of health insurance plans for the convenience and well being of our patients. We will work with you and your health plan to make the payment process as easy and hassle-free as possible. PMA also will ensure to fully verify all your benefits and provide you with a detailed breakdown of all your costs and coverages before your appointment day. For more information or questions on coverage, please contact your insurance plan.

Another Bonus???

PMA offers a large number of specialty tests and procedures that include, Allergy Testing & Treatment, Vascular Testing, Blood Circulation Testing, Nerve Damage and/or Progression of Nerve Damage Testing, Pulmonary Function Testing, Retinopathy Screening, Specialized and Custom Fit Back and Lower/Upper Extremity Braces, Continuous Glucose Monitoring, Sleep Studies and many many more
options that we have available to you.

So how does this benefit you?

PMA is considered a Primary Care Physician (PCP)not a Specialist, therefor you get to receive specialist level testing options at primary care costs which are normally very minimal and a lot more budget friendly and affordable to you.

The Bottom Line:

PMA is DEVOTED to helping YOU! Don't delay or avoid getting the deserved, quality healthcare you need due to your high deductible plan or a cost-related concern. PMA will find a solution for you and get you on the path to better and healthier days! If you have questions about your specific plan, payment options, or the Care Credit process, please do not hesitate to call us so we may discuss it with you! Our expert billing team will help and will do it with an understanding mind. To reach our billing team today please call (210) 341-9614 and hit option #5. What is Hormone Pellet Therapy?

Hormone Pellet Therapy adds life back to you and gives you a feeling of satisfaction making you excited for the future. Naturally, your body's natural hormones begin to decline somewhere after your mid-20s and symptoms arising from a hormone imbalance present themselves by your mid-30s. Men and women often start replacing hormones between the ages of 35 and 40 to get relief from bothersome symptoms and to try and feel good again. If you are experiencing symptoms of hormone imbalance, it is best to seek testing and treatment as soon as possible. Delays in addressing hormone imbalance can affect your future health and quality of life. Hormone replacement therapy using hormone pellets is a sustainable delivery method for hormone replacement therapy. Every three to four months for women and five to six months for men, a pellet made of bioidentical hormones is inserted under the skin, usually on the upper part of the buttocks for women and the lower flank area for men.

Great Results

Great Results

The pellets, which contain customized levels of estradiol or testosterone, are slowly metabolized over the course of your specific number of months, releasing the bioidentical hormones estrogen and testosterone in much the same manner as the body's natural hormones are secreted. The pellets are made up of either estradiol or testosterone. The hormones, estradiol or testosterone, are pressed or fused into very small solid cylinders called pellets. These pellets are larger than a grain of rice but smaller than a 'Tic Tac'. Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy using the pellet method has changed the manner in which men and women age and the way they feel doing it. get to live them.

What's in it for you?

What's in it for you?

  • Pellet therapy hormones work just like natural hormones in the body.
  • Pellet therapy does not disrupt or interfere with your liver.
  • Pellet therapy does not negatively impact clotting factors, blood pressure, lipid levels, and/or glucose in the body.
  • Pellet therapy maintains and potentially improves bone density when supplying the body with a consistent dosage of hormones.
  • Pellet therapy provides the patient with consistent improvement in cardiovascular health, libido, disruptive migraines, sleep disturbances, hot flashes, depression, mood swings and joint aches/pains.

Don’t put off feeling like the "old you" any longer! You deserve to feel great all the time!

Estrogen Pellet Therapy For Women

Estrogen Pellet Therapy For Women

Estrogen is a woman's most important hormone that helps the body to maintain your daily energy, moods throughout your day and overall body functionality. Due to the gradual loss of the estrogen hormone naturally created in woman that will occur for every woman, Hormone replacement therapy must be done in order to maintain the proper hormone levels our body needs to perform well.

Without hormone therapy the body loses the capability to function at peak and also to fight off certain things that could harm the body. The lack of being to fully function puts woman at increased risk for weight gain, depression, premature ovary failure, osteoporosis, heart disease, colon cancer, Alzheimer's disease, tooth loss, impaired vision, Parkinson's disease and diabetes. The longer a woman is without the protection of her own estrogen, the greater the risk for serious health problems later in life.

Estrogen Pellet Therapy For Men

Estrogen Pellet Therapy For Men

Defy Your Age.

Testosterone hormone therapy gives both men and women mental clarity, libido sexual drive), energy, muscle tone and mass, and overall vitality. When this hormone is at low levels, men and women often complain of mental confusion, weight gain, depression, anxiety, irritability, fatigue, sleep disturbances, anger, hair loss, and poor muscle tone, even with consistent regular exercise.

This hormone is well known to boost metabolism and provides the benefit of helping lower fat levels. Thus, when testosterone is balanced, ideal weight is easier to achieve in both men and women. The musculoskeletal system is also adversely affected by the loss of testosterone. By not having bio identical hormone therapy, the deficiency or imbalance of testosterone in the body can lead to muscle atrophy, osteopenia, osteoporosis, and pain in the muscles/joints.
